A Strategic Move the Golden State Warriors should do this Off-Season

After finishing the regular season with a record of 44 wins and 38 losses, the Golden State Warriors entered the playoffs as underdogs. They managed to defeat the Sacramento Kings in a thrilling seven-game series in the first round, but unfortunately, they were overpowered by the LA Lakers in six games.

As I closely observed the series, it became clear to me that the Warriors' first priority should be finding a more competent center than Kevon Looney. Now, I don't mean to undermine Looney's abilities as a player, but when matched up against Anthony Davis, he was consistently outplayed. Looney's height disadvantage allowed Davis to dominate inside the paint and control the rebounding, which proved to be a significant challenge for the Warriors. Therefore, during this off-season, the Warriors should focus on upgrading their center position. Acquiring a skilled big man who can excel both offensively and defensively is essential for the team's success.

One particular player that the Warriors should consider targeting is Miles Turner. Unlike Looney, Turner possesses a versatile skill set that includes the ability to shoot the three-pointer effectively. In fact, this season he boasted an impressive 37 percent accuracy from beyond the arc, proving that he is not limited to one aspect of the game. Additionally, his presence on the perimeter would greatly benefit the Warriors' spacing. It's worth noting that acquiring Turner would require a trade, and to facilitate this, I suggest the Warriors explore the possibility of re-signing Draymond Green while also offering a lottery-protected 2025 first-round pick or an unprotected 2025 first-round pick. Although losing Green may sting a bit, Jonathan Kuminga has already shown glimpses of his potential to fill the void left by Draymond. Kuminga's versatility allows him to guard multiple positions, and he brings more offensive firepower to the team compared to Green.

Keep in mind that this article was written prior to the Jordan Pool trade. This is my suggestion for the Golden State Warriors to have a successful off-season. If you are a Warriors fan, I would love to hear your thoughts on what the team should do during this period.
